"Durgadas (Rodney Lingham) is one of the most important traditional scholars and teachers of both Veda and Tantra working in the world today, with his field of insight extending to Ayurveda and Jyotish.
Though still quite young (around thirty), he has a deep understanding of the esoteric doctrines, mantras and yoga practices that is extremely rare today even in senior teachers in India today.
Along with this he has the ability to express the teachings in extensive writings that cover all the main aspects of Vedic and Yogic concern.
As an Ayurvedic Vaidya, he has new insights as to the disease process based upon his extensive study and research with herbs and mantras.
As a Jyotishi, he takes the key principles of planets, signs and Nakshatras and applies them with skill and adaptability relative to birth charts today.
As a Vedic teacher, he knows the secret Yoga and mantra Sadhana hidden behind the most ancient Rigvedic mantras and deities.
As a Tantric teacher, he understands the energies and personalities of the Goddess and is able to put receptive students in touch with them and the sadhanas for working with them. We look forward to his many contributions in the years to come."

Durgadas was brought up in the Arya Samaj spiritual tradition in India which emphasises the ancient Vedic texts (Four Vedas, Rg, Saama, Atharv and Yajur) and also continues his maternal side which worshipped the Goddess (shakti) in the form of Gayatri-Saraswati, Mother of Vedas, Goddess of Wisdom and Music.
His Grandfather also studied Sanskrit in Dehradun in Northern India and his Mother (late Shobha Devi Lingham, nee Singh-Verma) was a great Sadhak (spiritual aspirant) of the Gayatri mantra sadhana or practise of Gayatri mantra and also had a passion for herbal remedies, having an Ayurvedic root. She also witnessed in her early years the power of Jyotish in her local village, healing her from a long-suffering illness, Asthma.
